Teifi Valley Railway
The Teifi Valley Railway runs from Henllan to Riverside, a twenty minute journey. The track is now 2ft gauge though was originally designed as broad gauge. It runs along the old Carmarthen to Newcastle Emlyn line that closed in 1973. It currently has two steam locomotives, formerly quarry engines dating from the First World War. As can be seen from the photographs, the engine pulls the train but reverses from Henllan.
At Pontprenshitw (Shaky Wooden Bridge) there is a walk down to the ravine beneath the bridge. Full details of time tables and fares are available at http://www.teifivalleyrailway.com/index.htm .
The shaky wooden bridge is actually a handsome stone structure.
